Because cocktails are so very, very delicious it can be easy to get carried away – and before you know it, you’re rather on the drunk side! So it’s a good idea to have a few tasty snacks to hand to help soak up all that alcohol and make sure you don’t feel too bad when you wake up in the morning.

Even if you’re stuck at home during lockdown, there’s no reason why you can’t throw a stellar cocktail party, even if it is just for you and the dog. Finding ways to keep ourselves entertained and finding some enjoyment is absolutely essential right now – and food and drink is the perfect way to go about this, helping you pick up some skills along the way!

If you’re lucky enough to be able to get your hands on some flour (which is hard to come by right now because everyone is baking), what about making yourself some za’atar flatbreads and yummy yoghurt dip? Flatbreads are surprisingly easy to whip up, so don’t be put off if the idea of baking bread sounds difficult.

If you’re keen to balance your cocktails out with something on the healthier side, these delicious southern fried cauliflower bites and sriracha chilli mayo should fit the bill. You can bake them if you’d rather not deep fry them in oil.

Or you could try a canape classic – smoked salmon and herb blinis. If you buy ready-made blinis, this snack will take just minutes to put together, but you could further your baking skills and try making them yourself.
